“Alpha Omega is an Honour Medical Society, in which membership is based on scholarshio and moral character. Members are elected annually from the final two years of the undergraduate medical course. The Society was organized in 1902 at the College of Medicine of the University of Illinois, Chicago by William W. Root. The local chapter, the Alpha of Ontario, was established in 1906, and has ben active since its inception. The Society now has active chapters in nearly all the medical schools of the highest rank in both Canada and the United States, it is the only order of its kind on this continent. "
