Daffydil Banned During WWII

Living History

When the Second World War began, the Faculty took the opportunity to ban Daffydil's wild performances, telling the Medical Society to discontinue them. The Medical Society rejected the order, but after university administration intervened, the show was closed down for the duration of the war.  In 1945, students petitioned to have Daffydil reinstated.  The Faculty agreed, assured by the Medical Society that the show would be non-offensive to an average audience.
